Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Director of Operations who will ensure our operational processes run smoothly, efficiently, and support the overall goals of the company. You will be responsible for leading and overseeing the human resources, finance, and general operations functions of the business in this critical phase of growth, so having an eye for scaling and longevity is critical.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Process Improvement: With a solutions-oriented mindset, identify inefficiencies in workflows and implement strategies to improve processes

  • Interface with Customers and Vendors: As the primary point of contact for invoicing and billing, maintain a friendly, proactive, and customer service-oriented demeanor when interacting with customers and vendors.

  • Talent Sourcing: Lead the process to source, find, screen, interview, onboard, and retain new talent that will play key roles in the company’s growth through the startup phase and beyond.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate across departments and serve as a critical player in organizing company processes with multiple teams, including marketing, customer support, and product development.

  • Systems and Technology: Meticulously use tools like QuickBooks, DocuSign, Microsoft 365 Suite, HubSpot, and Asana to stay organized and provide regular and consistent updates to team company leadership.

  • Flexibility in a Startup Environment: Maintain a nimble approach to lend a hand with helping to organize meetings, plan events, or support general initiatives, and everything in between to ensure things run smoothly.

Skills & Experience

This is an ideal but non-exhaustive list of qualifications we are looking for in a successful candidate. If you meet some but not all of these, we encourage you to apply anyway! We look at each applicant’s candidacy in its totality to assess suitability for this role, including enthusiasm and inclination to learn and grow.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in human resources, financial management, or
    similar role.

  • Background or experience in nonprofit or fundraising operations, or related field.

  • Experience managing budget and financials for a company.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with colleagues.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all business-critical activities.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and business acumen, with an exemplary professional demeanor.

  • Proficiency in using financial and HR software and other tools to track and manage processes.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify gaps and inefficiencies, as well as project management and execution skills to implement solutions.

Qualities & Values

The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who:

  • Is extraordinarily organized and detail-oriented and excels at managing projects and improving processes.
